CONFLICT RESOLUTION CENTER OF SANTA CRUZ COUNTY CURRENT OPENING:  COMMUNITY MEDIATION PROGRAM MANAGER

Title: CRC Community Mediation Program Manager (CMPM)
Part-Time Exempt
Hours: 20 hours per week Bilingual/Fluent in Spanish and English
Location: Santa Cruz Office, 1414 Soquel Ave. Santa Cruz, CA 95062

The Conflict Resolution Center (CRC) offers affordable, accessible mediation, training and facilitation services for the people of Santa Cruz County. Our programs address conflict at all stages-from prevention to intervention-in our homes, neighborhoods, workplaces, and courts.  Founded as a local non-profit in 1986, we have helped thousands of people find satisfying solutions to difficult problems.   CRC creates a safe environment for inclusive, respectful communications that facilitate open dialogue to bridge divides.

Summary Statement

Under supervision of the Executive Director, the Community Mediation Program Manager  (CMPM) manages and administers the Community and Small Claims Mediation programs.  The CMPM is the first point of contact at the agency, and interacts with CRC volunteers and the Santa Cruz community.  The CMPM supports the executive director and other program managers in daily operations, and is present in the office on a set weekly schedule during business hours. Through good communication and follow-through, the CMPM promotes the values, goals, and policies of the CRC.

Description of Duties

Communication     

  • Serves as first point of contact for CRC, responding to calls and emails promptly 
  • Cultivates positive relationships with referral sources
  • Provides Spanish/English translation as needed for mediations and intake
  • Translates CRC documents from English to Spanish

Management

  • Manages the Community Mediation program, including assigning mediators,
    communicating with disputants, and maintaining case records
  • Manages the small claims mediation program including scheduling mediators, serving as a point of contact for the court, and maintaining case records
  • Administrative Support
  • Supports the Executive Director with invoicing, supply maintenance, data entry, report writing, and other tasks
  • Updates the agency website and manages social media
  • Meets regularly with Executive Director and CRC staff members to coordinate program activities.

Training & Events

  • Participates in annual mediator training and volunteer appreciation events
  • Attends training and conferences to increase knowledge and skills
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal)
  • Strong planning and organizational skills    
  • Strong work ethic, including the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, ages, and life orientations  
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Google drive, and databases
  • Flexibility to work occasional evening or weekend hours
  • Valid California I.D. and reliable transportation
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Training and experience in Community Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution
  • Experience with website management and use of social media

Compensation & Benefits
  • The Program Manager position is 20 hours/week. Salary is $22-$25 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Employees receive Sick Leave and Paid Vacation.
